In the not too distant future, Bibles and Bible believers have been outlawed and labeled deviant. Piloted robots are used to patrol the arid and run down world searching for deviant robots (devianticles) transporting “dangerous goods” in their compartments. The protagonist, Luapas’ robot (the leviathan) tracks a devianticle and gives chase. After catching up with and neutralizing the devianticle and the pilot inside, the Leviathan examines the devianticle’s compartment. Luapa’s partner robot (The J) arrives and notices him looking into the compartment. The J takes a shot at the Leviathan in an attempt to destroy the robot and Luapas but misses. The leviathan is able to escape. Its now betrayed pilot examines the contents of the compartment to find the dangerous goods are bibles.
