This documentary was produced during the 16/365 Days of Activism on Gender Based Violence in 2006, focusing on the lives of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) people in Namibia, sharing their experiences on how they have been victims and survivors of violence based on their sexual orientation. The producers travelled at the time to several towns throughout the country, to capture the stories of those survivors who were comfortable about sharing their stories. Reports on human rights violations towards the LGBTI community have been neglected, and Survivors is the first digital record of a homophobic society violating the rights of people with different sexual orientations. Produced by The Rainbow Project, this documentary aims to create awareness for a more tolerant society in Namibia.
