This documentary trailer introduces some of the influential personalities who have helped shape the character of the world renowned Etosha National Park over the last hundred years. Covering an area of close to the size of Switzerland and more well-known today for its prolific wildlife, these personal stories chronicle the landmark events in Etosha’s history: Namibia’s first two Presidents forced to pass through Etosha on foot as migrant workers; Owambo, Damara and Herero hunters and farmers living on the edges of the Etosha, dealing with lions, elephants and rhinos on a daily basis while trying to eke out an existence in the bush; Dorsland Trekker settlers living in Etosha at the end of the 19th century and perishing from blackwater fever; HaiúúOm and park rangers living in the Park today. Remarkable stories which have never been heard before. This short film is part of a major documentary, three years in the making.
