Two young white wannabe film moguls, Jake and Zed, set out on a road trip from Cape Town to Johannesburg to close a deal to sell their film about the underbelly of the modeling scene in the Mother City. One problem: well two; actually three…they have no idea about film making, they have no money and they have to try and keep their all but 50 seconds of unedited rushes out of the clutches of evil model agent Ray Whitehead – a ‘wannabe African’ with limey accent, whose favourite insult is “you stupid boerewors”. One solution to fix all: they need a BEE partner, and start looking fast in the most unlikely places. Along the way the boys are stalked by their nemesis Ray, his femme fatale girlfriend Lola, a Karoo serial killer, supermodels, shop window mannequins, and a psychotic Gatberg darts champion. Big Fellas is an unpretentious belly full of laughs about present day South Africa. “Jerre Broe, but dis one heck of a poitjie!”
