In this amusing yet moving comedy, where the groom is on one side of the Israel-Syria border and the bride on the other, a wedding becomes an international incident.

A Druze woman from the Golan Heights is engaged to marry a Syrian television star whom she has never met. If she moves to Syria, however, she will never be able to return to her home. It should be the happiest day of her life, but alas, the situation is compounded by the political connections of her father and a disturbed father-son relationship.

The topical theme of this film contains more than just a kernel of truth as the bride desperately attempts to cut through both the official and familial red tape, and tries to sort out her feelings of hopelessness and fear.

Syrian Bride simply draws you in exactly because of its authenticity.
