In 1964 six of France's most famous directors collaborated on a film about Paris. The result was Paris vu par. But who's to say that only French directors can be inspired and in love with their capital? Paris, Je t'aime sets out to showcase the universality of Paris by allowing 21 directors from around the world, including luminaries like Gus van Sandt, Alexander Payne, Walter Salles, Tom Tykwer, Christopher Doyle and Wes Craven amongst many more, to construct their own short films telling a love story set somewhere in Paris.

The result, depending on their tale and their take, is a warm, sad, spirited, melancholic, witty, divisive, subversive or silly string of 5 minute movies characterising Parisian neighbourhoods. Well-known actors of the silver screen like Elijah Woods, Bob Hoskins, William Dafoe, Nick Nolte, Gerard Depardieu or Marianne Faithful, have all added their pound of flesh in this love letter to Paris.

Portraying it sometimes veiled, sometimes reinvented; revealed or imitated, sucked dry and awakened, Paris, Je t'aime may be a simple concept, but one that takes you on a complex and utterly enchanting journey through the city of light.
