The setting: a small market in present day Jakarta. The story: love and eggs.

Narrated by a displaced 8-year old deaf and dumb girl, Of Love and Eggs is an intriguing slice of Indonesian life from the streets up. Told in a sequence of loosely connected chapters populated by street urchins, gambling muezzins, stall keepers and a foiled suicide attempt from a first storey balcony the plot unfolds slowly but deliberately to reveal the true source of love and contentment.

Inspired by the 1950's melodramatic movie style, this movie captures and explores a common situation in Indonesia. It embraces and explores the feeling of yearning for someone in your life, who in turn pilots your journey of love. Not only humorous, this film leaves you dry-eyed yet weeping for more.
